With over four decades of experience in the legal profession, Peter A. Bell brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and dedication to his work in mediation and arbitration. His career spans courtroom advocacy, judicial service, and committed community involvement—all of which now inform his approach to helping individuals and organizations resolve disputes fairly and effectively.

Legal Career
Peter A. Bell began his legal journey after graduating from South Texas College of Law Houston in 1981. He was admitted to practice law in October 1982, and shortly thereafter began serving as an Assistant State Attorney in February 1984.
In March 1986, Peter opened his own law office as a sole practitioner. His general practice included transactional law and civil litigation, serving clients with a wide variety of legal needs. From 1988 to 1996, he also served as the Contract Attorney for the Florida Department of Revenue in Charlotte County, focusing on Child Support Enforcement.
In 1990, he was admitted to practice before the Federal Middle District Court of Florida.
In January 2001, Peter took the County Bench as a judge and served honorably until his retirement in December 2024.
Throughout his legal and judicial career, Peter has remained committed to upholding the principles of fairness, justice, and community service.
Contributions to the Legal Community
In addition to his legal and judicial work, Peter has contributed significantly to improving the local legal system and expanding access to justice:
President, Charlotte County Legal Aid Corporation (1996–2000)
President, Charlotte County Bar Association (2000)

Peter believes in giving back to the community that has supported his professional and personal growth. Over the years, he has actively participated in numerous civic and charitable initiatives, including:

United Way Grant Screening Committee (served on two grant cycles)

Personal Life
Peter has been married for 42 years and is the proud father of seven children and eight grandchildren. His strong family values and life experience help inform his balanced, empathetic approach to mediation and arbitration.
